Help Me Fund My YWAM Outreach and Mission

Hi friends,

As many of you know, earlier this year, I started an incredible journey with YWAM (Youth With A Mission), participating in their Discipleship Training School (DTS). YWAM equips young people to serve communities around the world, focusing on areas such as education, healthcare, and humanitarian work.

However, after the sudden passing of my mum, I returned to the UK to grieve and be with family. This meant stepping away from the DTS program I started in October. Thankfully, I now have the opportunity to restart the program in January, but this unexpected change has resulted in additional costs that I need help covering.

What I’m Fundraising For

The DTS consists of two key phases:
1. Lecture Phase – This is a time of training and preparation, where we study and grow in faith and develop the skills needed for community outreach.
2. Outreach Phase – A hands-on, three-month period of service in underserved communities, which includes travel to other nations.

Initially, I fully funded the original DTS, covering both the Lecture Phase and much of the Outreach Phase. However, because I’m restarting the program, I need to raise funds for the additional three months of outreach.

The cost for this new program includes flights, food, accommodation, and other general living expenses. For my Outreach Phase, I’m aiming to raise £4,800 ($6,000), which covers:
• Flights to and from our outreach location.
• Accommodation during outreach.
• Meals and daily living expenses.
• Resources to serve the local communities we will be visiting.

YWAM’s outreach work deeply inspires me. They form lasting partnerships with local communities, serving tangible needs while empowering long-term staff and ministries to continue making an impact.

For example, in Papua New Guinea, where I was initially preparing to go on outreach, YWAM provides free healthcare to remote islands via their medical ship, the YWAM Liberty. This ship is equipped with containers transformed into fully functioning medical facilities, including a surgery suite, pharmacy, and dentist office. Many in Papua New Guinea travel for days just to receive basic healthcare services.

One story that touched my heart involves a woman who had a cataract operation aboard the YWAM Liberty. She and her family traveled for days by canoe so she could receive this free surgery. After the operation, she could see her children clearly for the first time in years. Stories like these remind me of the tangible, life-changing impact that mission work can have. While I wouldn’t personally provide medical care, I’d be serving alongside healthcare specialists, supporting their vital work and contributing to long-term efforts in the community.

Why This Matters

This journey is much more than a short-term mission trip. It’s a pivotal part of God’s plan for my life and a step toward my larger calling: to work in humanitarian aid and address issues like human trafficking and modern slavery.

Before she passed, my mum and I co-founded Hope Arise, a charity that supports vulnerable populations. It’s my heart’s desire to continue her legacy and expand this work into an international NGO. YWAM is preparing me for that long-term mission by giving me the exposure, training, and experience needed to step into leadership in this area.

Additionally, after completing the DTS, I’ll begin studying International Social and Public Policy at the London School of Economics (LSE). This degree, combined with my YWAM experience, will equip me to make a lasting impact in communities around the world.

How You Can Support Me

If you feel led to partner with me on this journey, I’d be so grateful for your support. My fundraising goal is £4,800 ($6,000), which will go directly toward my Outreach Phase. Donations will help cover:
• Travel and flights.
• Housing and meals.
• Community resources and project expenses.

Every pound or dollar you give is an investment—not only in the communities we’ll serve but also in my future and the work God is calling me to do. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign with friends, family, or on social media is just as impactful!

Thank you so much for being part of this journey. Together, we can bring hope to those who need it most.

With gratitude and love,
Amaiya
