Help Us Retire Our Dad Early After A Lifetime Of Fighting
Our dad has spent almost 59 years fighting through life.
Through illness.
Through pain.
Through cancer.
Through exhaustion.
And despite everything he has faced, he has continued showing up, working, and putting his family first.
After the birth of his daughter in 1991, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes around 1992. Since then, his body has been through more than most people could imagine.
Over the years, he has battled:
• Type 1 Diabetes
• Skin cancer
• Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
• Chemotherapy and radiotherapy
• Major back surgery
• Ongoing iron infusions
• Kidney failure
• Daily dialysis
During investigations for his back problems, doctors discovered cancer. Even after chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he carried on pushing through life for his family.
We have since learned that his insulin treatment was not managed correctly for many years, which is now believed to have contributed to the kidney failure he lives with today.
He is currently undergoing dialysis every single day to stop toxins building up in his body and is now facing two major transplants in the near future.
But even now, his biggest worry is not himself.
It’s money.
It’s how he will cope financially while recovering.
How he will keep going.
How he will continue providing.
As his daughters, we want to change that.
For the first time in his life, we want our dad to be able to rest without the constant fear of where the next money is coming from.
We want to help retire him early so he can focus on his health, recovery, and finally have some peace after decades of fighting just to keep going.
This fundraiser will help support:
• Loss of income during treatment and recovery
• Household bills and living costs
• Medical and travel expenses
• Giving him financial breathing room while waiting for and recovering from transplant surgery.
Anyone who knows our dad knows how hard he has fought through every setback life has thrown at him. We were hoping to retire him but if his bloods are good for three months, he will be offered the transplant, we have decided if that happens then he will receive the money early. As that will take take the pressure off him wanting to rush back to work.
Now it’s our turn to fight for him.
If you can donate, share, or support this fundraiser in any way, it would mean the world to our family.
Thank you for reading our dad’s story and helping us try to give him the rest he deserves
