I’ve previously jumped out of a plane to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society, and now I’m looking for my next challenge…so here we are - I’m taking on a wing walk!!

Not only for adrenaline or just a tick off the bucket list.

But for something far more important to me - Dementia.

I’m the CEO of The Devika Dementia C.I.C, a not-for-profit organisation providing Dementia Day Services across our local communities. This work is deeply personal to me.

My Mum Devika sadly passed away in June this year after living with dementia for 16 years, and my Dad Ernie was diagnosed with vascular dementia after suffering a stroke 3 years ago. I’m living through the reality of this disease as a daughter and also as someone who wants to help as many people as possible, as I know how isolating, overwhelming and heartbreaking it can be for families.

I created our dementia day services to help people living with dementia by providing meaningful days filled with connection, stimulation and joy, while also giving much-needed respite to their loved ones and carers. The aim is to help people remain living at home for as long as possible.

Every single donation will help us continue to support more families, reach more people, and provide safe, welcoming spaces for those who need us most.

So yes… I’ll be strapped on the top of a plane, up to 1000 feet in the air ✈️ and I’ll be thinking of my parents and every single person and family affected by dementia.

I've booked this experience for Sunday 23rd August at 3:30pm through Ethal Dares Wingwalking, at Classic Wings Duxford and I have everything crossed for some sunshine on that day☀️
