Bernie At-Large Delegate To Philly!
Donation protected

My name is Noemi Tungui and I was chosen by Bernie's Campaign to be an At-Large Delegate at the DNC in Philadelphia. I attend California State University Northridge, where I study Psychology and Political Science. Next year, I will be the first in my family to have earned her B.A going straight from high school to a 4 yr. university. I work as a behavior therapist to help children with autism. This past semester, I was a full time student, worker, non-paid intern for a state senator, one of the Lead organizers for the Bernie Sanders Brigade, and one of the Lead Organizers for CSUN Students for Bernie Sanders. I plan to run for local office in a few years and to be a life-long activist.
Last year I went to see Bernie at the USC Convention Center in L.A . Many things that he wants to fight for, I want to fight for: women's, immigration, health, education, LGBTQ, and environmental issues, just to name a few. Up to that point, I was a permanent resident but decided it was time I apply for my citizenship. I wanted to contribute, but little did I know just how involved I would become. I share my journey with you....
I have had the honor to have started my journey with the Bernie Sanders Brigade. In February of 2016, I went on my first trip canvassing to Nevada (I did not know what canvassing was). The following weekend, I was helping lead a bus full of canvassers to Nevada again! There, I had the honor of helping with one of Bernie's first spanish online ad's on home foreclosure!
Then, came Phoenix, Arizona! Volunteering at the main campaign office, we helped with the Jane Sanders Rally! That is where I did my first interview with Univision, informing the Latino community about Bernie.
I spent the final election week in Arizona, leading up to election night. I was witness to voter suppression in one of Maricopa County's polling locations. I did an interview with Telemundo that night in Spanish, outraged but needing to inform Latino's to not give up on Bernie.
In California, we set up a table on my college campus and registered about 1,ooo students. I also took part in the Bernie Sanders Brigade-College Student Coalition Team, helping guide other college campuses on voter registration.
The deadline to apply as a Delegate occurred before I became a citizen, so I applied as an At-Large Delegate.
Today I am proud to say that I am an official U.S citizen, a first-time voter, and now on my way to represent Bernie in Philly!
After numerous interviews, live speeches, marches, collaborations, and meetings, I have made it my mission to not give up. Not now! I am #BernieOrBust #StillSanders #NotMeUs #UnidosConBernie
