Dan McAvoy's Quito Kids

Donación protegida
Twenty years ago, in the parking lot of the Quito, Ecuador airport, I met a young man who changed my life. The young man, Patricio, was supporting his family of 5 by offering to carry your bags with the hopes of receiving a tip.

Over the course of many years of my flying in and out of Quito I would observe Patricio working hard in the airport parking lot. I just knew there was a special quality about this young man.

Fast forward over the years, sadly, the mother of his children was mugged and murdered on the streets of Quito. Patricio was now faced to raise 4 children alone.

I was determined at that time to offer my help. I vowed to pay for the children's education as long as they continued in school and did well. I'm happy to say that the children are thriving and are excellent students.

Patricio was so proud of his children that he,at the age of 24, returned to school, enrolled in the 3rd grade and he has completed his equivalent to a high school GED. He received his certificate in the restaurant and baking trade and now earns $250 a month as an apprentice at a local bakery.

I would like to continue funding the education and care of these children but I can use a little help. Your donation will help these children achieve a life they never thought possible.

For about $50 a day we can feed all 4 children and the father. Would you consider sponsoring this family for at least one day a month? At $30 a month that is only a $1 a day. However any donation would be appreciated so give what you can.

Won't you please help?

Thank you,
Dan McAvoy
