Deva's $40k for 40 years Bellwether Challenge

Thank you for helping celebrate Deva's 40th birthday by donating to Bellwether Housing, which will turn 40 in a few months! We're aiming to raise $40k.
About Bellwether Housing: Bellwether is Seattle's largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing, with 32 buildings throughout Seattle. They serve low-income individuals, families, seniors and households transitioning out of homelessness. Bellwether was founded by downtown Seattle business and civic leaders and continues to prioritize strong relationships with both corporate and public partners.
Affordable housing allows people who work in a community to live there, not only improving the quality of life for the residents, but also increasing the community's vibrancy and diversity . Deva has been a passionate advocate for affordable housing throughout her career, has served on Bellwether's Board for four years, and was recently selected as Vice Chair.
Bellwether layers many types of capital to build and maintain its stock of affordable housing -- but grant dollars are the most scarce and most in need. The funds raised here will go towards two key areas:
(1) reducing the overall cost of capital of Bellwether's effort to build 750 new affordable homes in the next three years, and
(2) connecting residents to services they and their families need to thrive.

Important: We have access to a corporate 3:1 match if the funds are provided directly to us -- that's what donating through this website does. So if, for example, you donate $100 through this site, our corporate match will donate $300 more for a total of $400 for Bellwether. Alternatively, feel free to mail Deva a check, which will earn the same match (1607 10th Ave W, Seattle WA 98119).
The downside of this approach is that for tax purposes you haven't technically donated directly to Bellwether -- since the money goes through us to access the match -- and so you don't get the tax write-off. If you'd prefer to donate directly please do and let us know.
