Cyclone Gaja Relief For Delta

Donation protected
Dear Friends,

Gaja - A disastrous cyclone (110-120 km/hr) ripped through the villages across seven districts of Cauvery Delta region in Tamil Nadu, India on 11/15/2018. This Cyclone uprooted Coconut, Mango, Jackfruit, banana, teakwood and many other trees, killed many livestock’s, damaged lots of houses and lives of people, bring down the power lines and left us all in the dark overnight.

My area is one of the heavily impacted places, each farmer in my village and the neighboring villages lost their livelihood. Most of these trees were planted 50 years back by our grandparents, we are left with ground zero now, it’s going to take minimum 15 years to see new trees if we and our parents start planting them again now. This Cyclone reversed our farmer’s life socially and economically. To understand the severity of this disaster please check social media and YouTube videos on cyclone GAJA.

We are planning on relief activities in two phases, short-term, and long-term, and we need all your help. Materials for the short-term relief includes Water, Groceries, Food items, Mosquito repellents, candles, match boxes, tarpaulin, solar/battery powered torch lights, mobile power banks. These items will be purchased using your donations and will reach the needy on time.

Greatly appreciate all your kindness and help!
