Support our kids in becoming confident, resilient, and happy

Hi I am Genny and I started this project back in 2008 when as a single parent of two I was struggling to get affordable child care. I initially funded the project from my own funds and using a team of dedicated parent volunteers. I received funding from UNLTD and our local councils and the Big Lottery.

Since them as a team we've been dedicated to empowering children in Northfleet to embrace confidence and happiness within themselves. Through a variety of engaging activities and workshops, we strive to equip children with the essential skills and mindset needed to thrive in today's world.

Our Mission:

At Confident Children Project, our mission is to foster confidence, resilience, and well-being in children through fun and educational summer activities. From talent shows to sports, board games to creating healthy snacks, we offer a diverse range of experiences aimed at nurturing self-esteem and positive self-image.

What We Do during the half term and holidays:

• Well-being Workshops: We provide interactive sessions focusing on mental and emotional well-being, teaching children valuable coping strategies and mindfulness techniques.

• Talent Show: Our annual talent show encourages children to showcase their unique skills and talents, boosting their self-confidence and self-expression.

• Exercise and Sports: Physical activity is vital for overall well-being, so we organize sports activities and games to keep children active and healthy.

• Board Games and Creative Activities: Through board games and creative projects, children learn cooperation, problem-solving, and unleash their creativity.

• Creating Your Happy Place: We guide children in creating their own happy place, a safe and calming space where they can retreat when feeling overwhelmed.

• Etiquette and Manners: We believe in instilling important values of respect, kindness, and etiquette in children, preparing them to navigate social situations with confidence.

• Environmental Awareness: We educate children about the importance of taking care of the environment through eco-friendly activities and initiatives.

Community Impact:

Our project not only benefits children but also brings families and the community together. Parents have opportunities to volunteer, take time for themselves, or go to work with peace of mind, knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing environment, having fun and learning valuable life skills.

Why We Need Your Support:

To continue our mission of empowering confident and happy children, we need your help! We aim to raise £1,500 to cover the costs of venue rental, paying qualified staff, and acquiring the necessary resources for our summer activities. Your generous contributions will directly impact the lives of children in Northfleet, helping us provide enriching experiences that foster growth, resilience, and joy.

What your support will cover

Summer activities for a maximum of 25 children to attend each day.

Costs includes: Venue Hire, Activity organisers, specialist tutors, refreshments, resources, and towards some of our project running costs.

Our parents will be charged a small fee to help us cover the costs too.
