Colors for Haiti

Thank you for wanting to learn more about the needs of the children at St. Matthieu Episcopal School.

Our relationship with St. Matthieu is special. We visit the school yearly and have a full accounting from the rector and the principal. We know the immeasurable impact every dollar has on the community. For $100, a child at Matthieu can attend school for the entire year, including a lunch of beans and rice, often the only meal he or she will eat that day. For $1200, a teacher earns a yearly salary. If you choose to contribute, know that your gift will be specific, direct, and accountable.

Haiti is a desperately poor country with a complex history. Yet, the people possess hope. They hold fast to the Creole proverb, "Piti, piti, wazo fe nich li." Little by little the bird builds its nest.

Let's help them with its construction.

If you'd like to learn more about our commitment to this community, please read my recent post: Haiti and Grit

We and the Matthieu students are so grateful for any support you can offer.
