Greetings and Happy Fall! We hope life is treating you well.
Mike and I have some exciting news to share. We have begun the adoption process! God has led us to this moment, and we are beyond thrilled to take this next step to grow our family.
In our adoption research, we found and fell in love with a wonderful agency called Lifetime Adoption . The founder, Mardie Caldwell struggled with infertility and experienced seven miscarriages before she and her husband pursued adoption. Mardie and her husband allowed their Christian faith to guide them to a new beginning. For over 35 years the Caldwells have been helping families adopt all across the country.
Not unlike the Caldwells, Mike and I have been on our own journey toward adoption. After ten years of marriage, we have grown up together as a couple, allowing God to guide us and our decisions.
The decision to adopt at this time in our marriage is one that God has confirmed for us with a booming YES! And we are excited to respond to his call. Mike and I are pursuing domestic infant adoption through Lifetime, and we are open to twins or siblings!
Adoption, much like marriage, is already proving to be an incredible journey. The phrase “it takes a village to raise a child'' comes to mind. Mike and I, in our education and ministry, have often been a part of the village, supporting young people in becoming adults with good values and character. Today I ask you to be part of our village, from day one.
The first step in the adoption journey is prayer. Please pray for us and:
- Our future child and his/her birth parents,
- Lifetime Adoption team who will guide us,
- Social workers who will do the home study,
- Attorneys who will give us peace of mind by handling the legal matters,
- Any additional agencies and people involved in the adoption.
We would like to invite you to be a part of our adoption not only through prayer, but also by giving financially. We have two fundraising goals:
- Create a community of friends and family who are ready and excited to welcome our child into their lives as our son/daughter.
- Raise the $40,000 needed to bring our future child home.
