e-NABLE Oswego County - CiTi Teachers Association
Donation protected
The CiTi Teachers Association has created a local chapter of e-NABLE right here at CiTi in Mexico, NY. We are now chapter # 140 on the e-NABLE Hub.
So imagine trying to get through a single day without one of your hands. The Center for Disease Control (CDC) estimates about 1,500 babies are born with upper limb reductions each year in the United States. The Amputee Coalition reports that approximately 185,000 amputations occur in the United States each year alone.
Check out these videos to see why we want to do this : Kid Engineer & Max | Hands are Changing These Kids' Lives | Enabling The Future . Our teachers and students want to support of the global e-NABLE community.
To get started we are trying to raise money for tools and materials such as: An assortment of screws, high tension braided fishing line, Velcro strapping, foam padding, pliers, side cutters, different types of files, small hammer and plastic mallet, screwdrivers, spring clip/clamps, toothpicks, ⅛” pin punch, utility scissors, writing materials, 3D printing filament.
We hope to provide build kits and work with students and teachers to create and assemble 3D printed hands for the global e-NABLE community. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated as we support people with limb differences.
