Hello!
To some of you, I'm Laura. Some of you might know me as ChronicEverything from social media. Some of you know the 3 of my six children who still need to be taken care of; C, J & P. This fundraiser will benefit all 4 of us.
Our lives were all flipped upside down in January of 2022. I find myself single, on the hunt for a steady income. I'm also healing: getting my physical, mental & spiritual health to the best they can be, so I can be the best Mom I can be.
I'm making solid & steady progress in getting the kids home with me.
One giant obstacle for me is the lack of a vehicle. Even with cab vouchers, the cab has limited hours and can't take all of us. Currently, I can't spend time with the kids as often as I'd like. And, once we are a family of 4 (all of us with disabilites), getting around to the two different schools & 1 day program, to doctor visits, to the store is going to be VERY difficult in our small town.
I chose the goal I did because that was a figure that was the best guess from several people around how much a decent used car would be. Even if I can't hit it, the more significant downpayment on a potential loan, the better.
A car will make visits to family 15-20 minutes away possible (everyone always has to come to me, currently). We will be able to visit their sister, who lives about an hour away. The children and I all have Primary Care doctors, as well as several different specialists, dentists, etc., that are between 10 minutes- one hour drive from home.
I want to be able to take them to different parks, the library, and so many other places. While they are at school or in other care, I'd like to run errands, attend appointments, and potentially work a part-time job.
If everyone who sees this can donate even a few dollars, it will help.
I even foresee a "trickle down" effect where if I can offset the cost of a vehicle, it will benefit the children financially in other ways. I'll have more money (for gas!) but even things like the trust funds for the boys' care after I'm gone.
Thanks so much for reading this. The good wishes and prayers we have already received are SO appreciated and truly priceless help. If you cannot give financially, would you consider sharing this on social media, where it could potentially be seen by someone who feels moved to donate?

I'll be adding updates as time allows.

With gratitude,
Laura, C, J & P
