We, the International Minority Coalition (IMC) in unison with the Hispanic American Democrats of Mecklenburg County (HADMC), as well as the African American Caucus of the Mecklenburg County Democratic Party (AAC-MC) are organizing a food drive for affected minority communities in our area.
We will be accepting donations until June 30th; but we want to deliver boxes of food directly to families on a weekly basis. Please find it in your heart to donate any amount that does not affect your personal budget, so we can go purchase and donate non-perishable items directly to disenfranchised communities in Mecklenburg County. If you cannot contribute or are in need, please reach out to us so we can help you!
Updates and pictures will be posted every week with the name and location of the community, church and/or non-profit organization that received the food donations. We plan on targeting minority groups that have been hit the hardest by this pandemic and may not have access or knowledge of the limited resources available to them.
