Charity Walk up Snowdon for Stroke Survivors Crewe

Donation protected
Hi I’m Liz and I am the Founder and lead volunteer of Stroke Survivors Speech and Language Support Group in Crewe and surrounding areas. We are a constituted, voluntary Group which was formed in May 2018 due to my father surviving a Stroke . His Stroke mainly affects his speech, language and communication skills.
At the time of his rehabilitation ending,  there wasn’t any support groups for Speech and Language so that is why this Group was formed.

We are doing our fundraiser this year were we have 8 walkers climbing Snowdon to raise funds for our Group. We do not receive any funding from professional bodies.

The Group is now flourishing with regular members attending the the weekly sessions. We support individuals, 18+ who have survived a Stroke with fun activities to help develop and support them with their speech, language and communication difficulties and help them to feel safe and secure with their peers. . We are very inclusive, and many friendships have been formed. We support the individuals to gain their confidence and everyone is treated as an individual and to be included in the activity.
We do not receive any central funding from the Government, or other charitable causes so rely on Fundraising and kind donations. Any funding we receive does go straight towards any activity that we do with our Survivors.
