Celebrating Qwente Bryant’s Life and Legacy

With heavy hearts, we are coming together to honor the life of Qwente “Q” Bryant, who was taken from us far too soon. Qwente tragically passed away following a hit-and-run accident in Pacific Beach, leaving behind family, friends, and a community that loved him deeply.

Qwente was more than a familiar face. He was a presence. He had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and at ease the moment they were around him. His energy, kindness, and generosity left a lasting impact everywhere he went. While many knew him through his recent time in the Pacific Beach community while managing at Tavern at the Beach, he was also a huge part of the Long Beach Panama Joe’s Sharkeez and The Federal Bar family. These spaces were more than workplaces to him. They were home, filled with friendships, laughter, late nights, and memories that will never be forgotten.

Those who who were friends with Qwente, worked alongside, or crossed paths with him in the service industry know how special he was. He showed up for people, brought joy into busy shifts, and created real connections that went far beyond the bar or restaurant floor. His loss is felt deeply across multiple communities that loved him and are now mourning together.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help support Qwente’s family with funeral and memorial service expenses during this incredibly painful time. No family should have to carry this burden alone while grieving such a sudden and devastating loss. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial stress and allow his loved ones to focus on honoring his life and memory.

If you are unable to donate, sharing this page is just as meaningful. Thank you for your love, support, and compassion as we come together to remember Qwente and surround his family with care.

Update: Qwente’s mom shared something deeply meaningful that reflects exactly who he was. She said Q came to her in a dream and asked to be celebrated the way his friends knew how to do best. Not with black clothing or mourning, but with joy, laughter, and love. She believes his spirit is still here, and while God took him young, he lived a full and vibrant life. In honoring his wishes, his family plans to celebrate him in the same way he lived, surrounded by community and connection. His celebration of life and memorial service will take place in San Diego, with dates to be announced. We will share details as they become available so everyone who loved Q can come together and celebrate his life the way he asked.
