On July 6th, 2015, the four-states community lost a friend, a father, a public servant, and a good man. Carl Boyd passed away after a series of health complications. Carl made a career out of being a police officer, with service at Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, Pittsburg Police Department, Labette County Sheriff's Office, Cherokee County Sheriff's Office, Galena Police Department, and Weir Police Department where he served as Chief of Police.
Carl left behind three daughters, a brother, and his mother. Having passed at the young age of 46 and spending his entire career in public service, he did not have the opportunity to plan for his final expenses. His untimely passing has left a sizeable burden for his family to take on. The goal of this campaign is to aid the family with funeral expenses.
The funeral is planned to take place at Derfelt Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 10th. Everyone is invited to join friends and family in remembering Carl.
