Canyon Resident Stickers:
We have ordered 2500 car stickers for the residents of Modjeska, Silverado, and (if needed) Williams Canyons. The first $615 that we raise will go solely to reimburse Marion Schuller for her generous purchase of the stickers.
The rest of the funds will go towards the purchase of additional stickers to have on hand in case residents need more for their own additional personal vehicles. These stickers will be distributed through the post office. There will be an initial limit of two free stickers per household. If you need additional stickers, they will be distributed through Joanne and/or Marion, at a cost of $1 per additional sticker needed.
The long term goal is to have them recognized and supported by OCSD, in place of showing a valid Driver's license or a utility bill every time the road is closed.
The short term goal is to help our fellow residents avoid getting a parking ticket during this COVID-19 pandemic, IF they have no place to park WHEN AT HOME, other than in the street (in front of their house), as is currently happening in Modjeska.
Please keep in mind that while it will help, a sticker will NOT guarantee that you are safe from getting a parking ticket if you are illegally parked. This would include ANY area where "No Parking" signs are posted like Black Star, the Riviera, and Maple Springs. However, by limiting access of the stickers to just the residents we stand a much greater chance of OCSD actually honoring these. This is why it is crucial for everyone to protect them. They are to be used ONLY on your own vehicles and not handed out to your friends or "out of the area" family members.
