Community Based Group Writing Well and Publishing Books

Hello there, my name is Paula Anne, and I run a small publishing and consultation business in Lincolnshire called Busy Corner Books. With the help of my partner, Barrie, we offer group work, workshops, write and publish our own work, plus offer consultations in various areas: from putting pen to paper, to marketing a finished product.

I offer an afterwards mentoring service too, encouraging wannabe or new budding authors. Our latest and most popular being a one-to one consultation for those wanting to write a book and look at option of publishing. I do not publish the book, but will give you the information and help you build strengths and encourage your forward. Once you have begun your project. I can offer a follow up service, to help you be accountable to self and stick to your goals. My fees are very reasonable.

Alongside Busy Corner Books, I offer a new community group called Writing Well. This is something I would like to offer at a minimal price, and am working towards being able to offer many places for free.

At the moment, I charge £8.00 per person each week, and facilitate a 6 week encouraging Writing Well course in Louth, Lincolnshire. We are also available to bring workshops and courses to other local towns or local villages. We can also offer workshops online. I would like to make Writing Well more accessible: to those of any level of experience, to help build confidence and discover the strength of a writing voice.

I am currently studying at university for an MA in Creative Writing, and bring many years experience in counselling and psychotherapy.

I cannot afford to deliver Writing Well for free without a grant or financial help. When I asked on social media if local people would be interested in Writing Well, I received over 50 inquiries! But I sadly had to say no for the moment because we need money to set this up.

Our pilot group is being received well. The attendees who are paying £8.00 per week have given some good feedback. But with the expenses and set up, for instance, insurance, room hire, refreshments, fuel costs, this is going to cost me to run the group.
