Hello, my name is Kajiram Adhikari Chhetri, founder of HimaNest Collective.
Like thousands of young Nepalis, I once left my home and family to work abroad as a migrant worker. I hoped to find stability and a better future. But working overseas was not easy. Many Nepali workers face long hours, difficult living conditions, and years away from their loved ones.
During that time, I kept asking myself an important question:
Why do so many young people have to leave Nepal just to find opportunity?
Eventually I made a decision that changed my life.
Instead of building a future abroad, I returned to Nepal with a dream to create opportunities at home so fewer families have to be separated by migration.
That dream became HimaNest Collective.
The Problem
Every day, around 2,000–2,300 young Nepalis leave the country for foreign employment because they cannot find stable opportunities at home.
At the same time:
Local guides and tourism workers often struggle to find fair opportunities
Many travelers want authentic cultural experiences but do not know where to find them
Usable trekking equipment is often wasted or abandoned
Rural schools and communities lack ethical volunteer connections
There is no dedicated community-driven cultural exchange hub in Pokhara
Nepal has incredible culture, nature, and hospitality.
But these resources are not always used in a way that benefits local communities.
Our Vision
HimaNest Collective is more than a startup.
It is a community-focused initiative built on dignity, opportunity, and ethical tourism.
Our mission is to create a welcoming space where:
travelers connect with authentic Nepali culture
local guides and workers find fair opportunities
communities benefit directly from tourism
young people see a future in Nepal
By supporting this project, you help create real opportunities at home so families can stay together.
What We Will Create
Community Travel Information Center
A transparent travel hub in Pokhara where visitors can:
connect with local guides
plan ethical trekking experiences
learn about Nepali culture
access fair and transparent information
Nepali Cooking & Cultural Workshops
Visitors will experience authentic Nepali culture through:
traditional cooking classes
cultural storytelling
community exchange programs
This also creates income opportunities for local cooks and cultural educators.
Trekking Equipment Sharing System
Many travelers leave trekking gear behind after visiting Nepal.
We will collect, repair, and redistribute equipment to:
local guides
community groups
young trekking workers
This reduces waste and helps support sustainable tourism.
Ethical Volunteer Connections
We will help connect responsible international volunteers with:
rural schools
community programs
environmental initiatives
All placements will focus on long-term community benefit and ethical partnerships.

A Message From the Founder
HimaNest Collective is not just about tourism.
It is about dignity, opportunity, and hope for the next generation of Nepalis.
My dream is simple:
A future where young people do not have to leave their families and country just to find work.
With your support, we can begin building that future here in Nepal — at home.
Every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer.
Thank you for believing in this vision.
