Hub Network - Supporting Seattle Communities!

If Seattle experiences a strong earthquake or other major disaster, first responders will be stretched VERY thin and will not be able to assist all communities with emergency response.  At that point, nearly 75 Emergency Communication Hubs  throughout Seattle will activate and trained neighbors will gather to help organize and support their communities.

The ALL-VOLUNTEER force behind the Emergency Communication Hubs have shouldered our operating expenses for fourteen years.  Our simple ask? Help us cover the Network’s operating costs so we can continue offering this free essential community service and reach more Seattle neighborhoods - especially those hit hardest by economic hardships. Our goal is $5,500 to cover the next two years.

Our network costs include website maintenance, videoconferencing for our meetings, translation services to engage all Seattle residents, and printed materials such as how-to manuals, outreach materials, essential forms, and self-help posters .

The Hubs have been nationally recognized and received King County’s Executive Award for Community Preparedness  (2014) and the FEMA Technology Innovation Award (2017).  Several international organizations have studied Emergency Communication Hubs for best practices.

How much would you spend for the peace of mind a Hub in your neighborhood would provide? A $30 donation supports our operating expenses for one week; a $120 donation keeps us going for one month. Our goal for this fundraising effort is $5,500 to continue the most basic level of operation of the network for the next two years.

Any funds raised in excess of this amount will enable us to increase our outreach to the communities that will be most impacted by a disaster.
Thank you for considering a donation!
