***We are asking for the community’s help. We, Richmond (VT) Rescue, are a non-profit, 501(c)3 ambulance service that serves five towns and is back-up to many others, including Jericho, VT where Mount Mansfield Union High School is located.
For the first part of the project, we are partnering with Mount Mansfield Union High School (MMU) to place life saving equipment (tourniquets, gauze pads, and protective barriers) in multiple, key locations around the school. The school has made a significant contribution through its faculty, time, and resources. To adequately supply the school with trauma supplies, it would cost $1,500.
The second part is to fill our ambulances’ Mass Casualty Incident Bags (MCI Bags) with fifteen tourniquets and five needle decompression kits per truck. Needle decompression kits are used to relieve pressure in the chest cavity that can be brought on by significant trauma frequently seen in motor vehicle collisions. The fundraising goal for this equipment is $750.
Planning for tragic events is essential to minimizing loss of life and injury. Richmond Rescue relies on donations from the community to fund many of its equipment needs, and your donation will help to ensure that someone in need receives the emergency medical care required to save their life.
