Help youth see "Black Panther"

Donation protected
ALL proceeds beyond the movie screening will go to Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club Programs.

The release of Marvel's Black Panther is a historical event for world cinema. For youth all over the world, specifically of color, this film provides an urgent narrative that represents royalty, hope, innovation and empowerment.

Frank Callen Boys & Girls Club (FCBGC Savannah, GA) established in 1917, the first boys and girls club in the state of Georgia, provides a wealth of programs for our youth’s creative development, cognitive exercise and self-value. This foundation has been based on a 100-year span of community engagement and responsibility.

Why is this movie so important?

"Black Panther remains socially and culturally relevant because it imagines a world where black people continually triumph over the influences of capitalism, Western imperialism and white supremacy."

"Black Panther puts black women at the center of this black utopia. As it should."

Why $10,000?

Your contribution will provide each child (50+) and chaperon (50+):

2 Movie Tickets $12.00 x 2
2 Medium Popcorn $7.99 x 2
2 Candy $3.99 x 2
2 Drink $5.89 x 2

15 Passenger Van  $141.32

Transportation will be provided to and from the theater by licensed school bus drivers.

We don’t want to forget about our underage kids who can’t attend the screening.

Black Panther (myself) will make an appearance for superhero day at Frank Callen Boys and Girls Club. This will be the first black superhero FCBGC Savannah will have for superhero day.

ALL
remaining proceeds will go toward the organizations programs. One in particular is the Youth Gang Prevention Internship. Interns reach out to disadvantaged youth who are severely at risk for youth gang joining and welcome new youth into our Boys and Girls activities/programs.

We aim to have funds no later than
February 19th, 2018.

Although this film may be fictional, the truth of Black Panther and its fictional history reflects realistic values found in many families of African descent. In Savannah, GA youth in our city deal with various barriers. Whether it's lack of self-value or uncontrollable circumstances that prevent growth, we owe this to our youth to provide an experience where they can escape those realities, in hopes to influence change.

My gratitude is shared with many others who feel as I do and we appreciate anything you can spare.
So, let’s do this together so we can introduce new narratives for our boys and girls. Our children deserve this now, more than ever.

After the campaign is completed, all movie/refreshment donations and purchase receipts will be sent to campaign donors/organizations.
