Biking for Hilton Fire Department

About me: My name is Collin Burns. I am a senior at Hilton High School and a future Binghamton University wrestler. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic I lost access to any means of training. With becoming a wrestler at the division 1 level I wanted to find a way to continue to stay in shape. This has led me to start biking on a daily basis. I have decided to challenge myself by taking a solo ride to Syracuse NY. I would like to use this achievement as a way to also support my community and raise money for the Hilton Fire Department.

Why: The Hilton Fire Department usually holds an annual carnival as their main fundraiser. However, due to Covid-19, the fireman's carnival had to be cancelled. This will leave a very large hole in their fund and I want to help minimize the damage. The firefighters of Hilton are very dedicated men and women to risk their lives daily to help us in need. I felt it was important for our community to come together and help give back to those who have done so much for us.

Details: The ride will begin at the Erie canal pathway in Spencerport NY and end at Schiller park in Syracuse NY on 5/20/20. I will be doing the ride solo and will begin at 6:30 AM EST. Feel free to follow my Instagram @cbuurns for live updates.
