Beefy409, The Unknown Soldier & Team Endeavour Mount Fuji Challenge 2026

In September 2026 myself Yeoman Warder Scott Kelly #Beefy409 and The Unknown Soldier will join Team Endeavour to embark on our next challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for our Armed Forces Veterans.

Our challenge will involve climbing Mt. Fuji, Japan’s tallest peak standing at 3,776 metres (12,388 feet). The altitude will be tough never mind the chance it could erupt at any moment .

Together we can create change and together we can make a difference. Together we can save lives.

Team Endeavour raises money and awareness for children and families of the Armed Forces who are suffering through Illness, Hardship and Poverty. Team Endeavour is a charitable organisation made up of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds, some of which are serving military and ex military. The team was brought together and founded by Ben Hughes, team leader, who recruited friends and professionals to form a team to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for charity. The Team continue to embark on challenges having climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and competed in the Race Across America.

The Rawthey Project is a small charity with a big impact. Since 2014 the Rawthey Project CIC (Rawthey) has supported 658 of the most vulnerable veterans and their loved ones. Being relatively small and agile allows Rawthey to react quickly to fill the gaps in care when the needs of the veteran are complex and don’t align with mainstream protocols.

 

The recurring co-morbidity of addiction has evolved into deep cooperation between Rawthey and Tom Harrison House, the only dedicated veteran residential addiction treatment centre in the UK, based in Liverpool, a Care Quality Commission regulated, registered charity. Your money will immediately remove the veteran from the environment of their struggles (homelessness, addiction, psychological illness, etc) and move them into the peer supported environment in the Yorkshire Dales where their needs will be evaluated (formulated) and a coherent recovery plan will be delivered to achieve independent living and sustainable employment that aligns with their aspirations and potential.

 

The challenge of Mount Fuji is daunting but the pain and struggle will be nothing compared to what some people are going through every day and the challenges they face battling their mental health.

The Unknown Soldier and I are proud to support and raise awareness for charities close to my heart helping those especially with their mental health. Team Endeavour, The Rawthey Project and RAMIT (Rugby Against Mental Illness Together) Rugby do some amazing work. We are also proud to help and support the MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Community by raising funds and awareness for them, and the Wooden Spoon Charity (a charity linked to the Rugby community helping to change the lives of children and young people). By donating anything you can you are literally transforming and saving lives and for that it means the world to me, and I cannot thank you enough.
