In June of 2013 I had the opportunity to travel with Project H.O.P.E. to Managua, Nicaragua with the purpose of teaching women how to sew. This was so incredibly personal to me, since I do it here on a daily basis as a source of income.
My friend, Mary Ann Lengyel and I launched the Sew Nicaragua project (www.sewnicaragua.com) not fully understanding all the amazing things God was going to do with it. What happened while I was there was nothing short of life changing. For a better glimpse into my time there, please take a look at this amazing story Maria Neider of KY3 did. http://www.ky3.com/news/local/sew-nicaragua-a-mission-to-stop-sex-trafficking/-/21048998/22808944/-/dtt7ocz/-/index.html
This coming March we are going back with a small team to continue the work God has begun. We will be furthering the sewing skills of the women at House of Hope and the Project HOPE base.
For this trip, I have to raise $1400.00. This covers our airfare and expenses while we are there.
Here is the payment schedule we have been given:
$100 Non refundable deposit Dec 15
$650 Payment Jan 30
$650 Final Payment Feb 27
$100 for some sewing supplies to take
Donations can be made through this page or sent in check form via snail mail. All donations can be made as a tax write off by making your check out to Project HOPE and putting my name in the memo. You can then mail it to me at:
