Nature is our adventure park
Resele is surrounded by forests, dramatic river valleys and the Ångermanälven. For a child from an urban environment, simply entering these forests can be an adventure in itself.
This is the natural habitat of Swedish wildlife such as moose, foxes, bears, wolves and wolverines. Our aim is not to turn nature into a theme park, but to give children and parents the opportunity to discover it safely and responsibly.
Every season offers something different. Summer can bring hiking, swimming, fishing and exploring the forests. Winter opens the door to skiing, sledding, ice fishing, dog-sledding and other activities that many children – and adults – may never otherwise have the opportunity to experience.
Barnhotellet (The Children´s Hotel) in Resele will therefore be about more than accommodation. It will be about discovering, experiencing and creating memories together – for young and old alike.
Our vision
The Children’s Hotel aims to be a safe place where single parents and their children can rest, play and make memories together – without worrying about money.
What we offer:
A cosy and fun stay in a newly built children’s hotel.
Meals and a sense of community.
Play and nature experiences in beautiful Resele, in the municipality of Sollefteå.
Time for rest and tranquillity.
A variety of activities near the accommodation, all year round.
All of this is completely free of charge for families.
The Farm in Resele
We have been gifted a beautiful property – a former farmhouse in the centre of Resele – to our foundation. It is perfect for transforming into a children’s hotel – but the old barn needs to be demolished and a new one built. The new building will be adapted to create a child-friendly and exciting environment for families.
With your help, we can:
- build a new hotel with rooms with a playful atmosphere.
- create communal spaces for play and rest.
- build simple kitchen and bathroom facilities.
- purchase special bed furniture.
- design the room’s environment with the help of children.
- organise activities for the children.
How will the money be used?
Demolition and building permits cost approximately 52,000 SEK. See the handwritten copy from the Sollefteå Building Committee dated June 2025.
An environmental assessment has been carried out and is attached to the planning application. Design proposals are in place, but we must take the landscape into account.
The money is also used for:
- Social media content and information
- Architectural and engineering services
- Environmental and energy requirements
- Government fees
- Building contractors
- Quality and sustainability monitoring
Health and safety
The financial transactions are monitored with the help of a local auditor, Block Revisionsbyrå AB in Sollefteå, and reported annually in a summary.
Your donation goes entirely towards realising the Children’s Hotel in Resele.

500 SEK: food for a family during their stay.
1,000 SEK: bed linen and towels for a family room.
