The Baldwinsville Center for the Arts is a non-profit, non-governmental, volunteer organization dedicated to engaging the greater Baldwinsville community with the rich value of the arts in all its forms. Organizational events, including this past year's Paper Mill Island, were NOT PAID with village tax dollars but through the generous support of our sponsors and are completely staffed with volunteers.
After a long absence of community events on Papermill Island, the Center for the Arts took on the 2024 summer scheduling. Our 2024 programs included our 6th annual Spring Art Walk, our 5th Autumn Ghost Walk and the 24 Papermill Island Summer events. The July 4th Fireworks and Atlas concert that were widely enjoyed by the community were paid for exclusively by the Baldwinsville Center for the Arts as well as the other island music concerts. In addition, we offered a theatrical performance of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown," Food Truck & Music Thursdays, and the comedy events ShakesBEER and Homebrewed comedy. The majority of these events were free to the public and were chosen to fulfill our mission of bringing arts experiences to the community.
Unfortunately, in our start-up year on the Island, we incurred tremendous costs that have severely impacted our ability to sustain a similar program selection for summer 2025 without raising the needed funds from those interested in seeing the Island as the vibrant arts and music center it could be. In addition, the losses we sustained have also impacted our ability to deliver our most popular annual event, Ghost Walk 2025.
We are fundraising to cover the costs incurred and to ensure the continuation of our programs for summer 2025.
The Baldwinsville Center for the Arts is committed to bringing arts experiences to the community, and we need your support to keep this vision alive.
