Our story:

I'm a labor & delivery nurse at St Francis. I began my work in labor & delivery almost 14 years ago. I've devoted my life to serving other women as they bring their babies into the world and I cannot explain how blessed I am to witness miracles every day! All the while, I've dreamed of the day when it would be "my turn".

Drew & I met six years ago and fell in love. He is the most genuine, kind, funny man I know. We like to call each other "Turtle"- a joke that originated from the phrase "slower than a herd of turtles". So, these two turtles were married in 2011 and began trying for a baby turtle right away.

Over the past 3.5 years, Drew and I have struggled with infertility. My infertility journey began in 2005, long before I met my husband. I had a soccer ball-sized fibroid tumor removed from my uterus & I lost my right Fallopian tube in the process. Since then, I've had surgery for endometriosis, more fibroids removed, scar tissue & cyst removal. We were able to get pregnant once, but I miscarried. Last year, we discovered that Drew was also infertile. So, we gave up trying the traditional way & decided to move on to IUI.

On January 5th, 2015, I had surgery to get things "cleaned up" to start the process of IUI. Once inside, my doctor discovered that the opening to my left (and only) tube is "obliterated". I woke up to find out that motherhood, or my carefully planned definition of it, would not happen. My doctor suggested adoption, as IVF would be a risky choice with my scar tissue & fibroids.

Drew and I have been praying for direction, for guidance on how to grow our family. We really feel like God has given us both hearts for adoption and we are so excited to meet the baby that God has set aside for us. We cannot wait to be parents and to share all of this love with a precious baby boy or girl!

This is where you play a part in our story! We are asking for help to raise the tremendous amount of money required for attorney fees, a home study, legal processing, supporting the birth mom, etc. We are planning a few fundraisers in the near future- including selling t-shirts, yard sales, etc. I know its not anyone else's responsibility to bring home our baby, but we would appreciate any help we can get. If you are unable to donate, please at least share our link so that others may see our story.

Thank you so much for helping us bring home our little "turtle".
