Hi everyone, my name is Kwanesia, and I’m the founder of Building Family Unity, a community-focused nonprofit created straight from the heart with one mission: to support families in need with real, everyday help.

This isn’t just an organization to me. This is my purpose. Growing up in Atlanta, I’ve seen firsthand how many families struggle with basic needs like food, clothing, and stable housing. I’ve always been the type of person who shows up for people, who believes in supporting others where they are, and who helps them get back on their feet. Building Family Unity is my way of turning that passion into something bigger for our community.

Our mission is simple: no family should ever feel alone, unsupported, or forgotten.

Why this matters

There are so many families in our communities who are silently struggling. Some parents are doing everything they can and still can’t cover basic necessities. Some are escaping unsafe situations. Some are trying to rebuild from scratch.

Building Family Unity steps in during those exact moments with love, compassion, and real support.

We are currently raising $20,000 to expand our programs, help more families, and cover the cost of food, clothing drives, emergency assistance, and future community events.
