Thank you so much to everyone who has donated so far. We have been blown away by the generosity of so many people, some known to us and some anonymously. We have now met with the London Women's Clinic and have been able to revise our costings and overall target.
Please help us to start a family by contributing towards the costs of Shared-Motherhood IVF conception, which currently stands at £14,675 (see below for breakdown).
Lauren has dreamed of being a mother for as long as she can remember. So much so, that she made peace with the idea of starting a journey with the London Women's Clinic on her own shortly before she met Charlotte. The two had only been dating a brief time when Lauren sprung the clarity of the situation on Charlotte. "Becoming a mother is something extremely important to me, and it's something I will be doing in the near future with or without a partner. I hope it's something you see in your future too, but just in case it's not I thought I'd better make that clear now before things get more serious between us."
Luckily, this was a dream that Charlotte held too! Although the sudden announcement had caught her a tad off-guard, she was fully on-board. She, too, had long been infatuated with the idea of creating a loving family unit with whom she can create adventures, make memories and learn lessons.
We've now been together since August 2015 and couldn't be more excited about starting our journey to become a family.
We are aware that there are many ways to start a family and many options before us. If our IVF journey is, indeed, unsuccessful we will not give up on our dream of becoming a family and will begin exploring other options. An IVF family through The London Women's Clinic is simply where our journey begins.
Our children have been in our hearts for so long now. We talk about them regularly and can see them in our future. It's been so upsetting to discover the staggering costs of starting a family through a fertility clinic and for money to become such a daunting factor in this otherwise clear decision. The fear is that this could be something that could potentially prevent us from meeting our children.
The breakdown of costs is as follows:
Health screening = £325
Shared Motherhood Cycle 2 x £6,225 = £12,450
Donor sperm 2 x $950 = approx. £1,900
Total cost: £14,675
We will really struggle to meet this total cost alone, which is why we are aiming to raise as much as we can towards this, with a target of £7,250
We hope to start this journey in Summer 2022. Anything you can donate towards supporting our family through this will be appreciated beyond words, and will never be forgotten.

WE PROMISE TO PAY IT FORWARD.
The choice to start a family should not be exclusive to wealth.
If we succeed at raising beyond the total cost of IVF in our fundraising efforts, we will donate this sum to another's IVF fundraiser. Additionally, we vow to make a donation every year to an IVF fundraiser. We believe the choice of becoming a family should be open to everyone and will continue doing whatever we can to make this possible, for as many people as possible.
