****Update***** thanks to your generosity, we now have all the applicase we need at The Guesthouse! The only thing left is to Winterize and be able to open our doors all year!
*******UPDATE ******* After almost a month with us, our resident is starting to thrive! It's amazing to see and a big part of its success is due to the generosity we've found here! We have been focusing on interpersonal and intrapersonal effectiveness, Emotional regulation, and somatic practice to release trauma! If you are interested in participating in a workshop please let me know!
I have been working daily with our resident, gently guiding him through nervous system regulation, interpersonal and Intrapersonal effectiveness, as well as distress tolerance and other practical life skills that are going to help him break the homelessness cycle and continue to thrive long after he's left The Guesthouse.
This process is delicate and requires my full-time attention, care, and empathy! As such, I have taken on a full-time (unpaid) role as Director of Care and Transformation and am starting a small organization called Angel Advocacy+, which I intend to use to continue challenging homelessness and catching people who are falling through the cracks.
Anything you can offer to help is greatly appreciated!! Donated Food Items can be picked up at your convenience :)
Thank you so much for everything!
*******UPDATE ******* Our resident has moved in!! Thanks to your generosity we have managed to reunite him and his emotional support dog in a safe home! We still need help for basic needs until our government grants come through, so every share and donation means so much!! *****************************************
Hey, I'm Angel. I’ve spent the last several years rebuilding my life from the ground up — now I’m creating a place where I can hold others as they do the same.
This project started as a dream: to create a safe, sacred space for people in crisis. Not a shelter, not a system. A real home. A healing home.
I live in a rural area, in a little place with land and a guesthouse. And I’ve spent months — with my own hands and the help of a few kind souls — turning that guesthouse into a transitional home for someone who needs it right now.
The first guest is already lined up. Someone who’s hurting. Someone who deserves safety, hot water, food, and the chance to catch their breath without fear.
But we’re not quite there.
What’s still missing:
A fridge to store fresh food
A stove to cook warm meals
Some groceries and basic household supplies
Help covering the cost of heat, insurance, and a few last upgrades
I’m not a nonprofit (yet). I’m just one person doing the work, building a foundation brick by brick for something bigger — a place where healing is possible.
I’ve already poured my money, my time, my love into this. I’ve built this program to include:
Basic needs and safety
Peer and spiritual support
A trauma-informed, compassionate environment
Every dollar raised here goes straight to getting this space ready to welcome someone home. And if we raise more than we need? That just means the next person has a place too.
If you can donate — thank you. Truly.
If you can share — that means the world.
Let’s bring someone home.
With love and gratitude,
Angel Carroll
