Team 'Boots and Banter' have decided—possibly after one too many glasses of wine—that walking 87 miles along The Ridgeway in sensible 10-mile chunks is a brilliant idea.
So armed with questionable navigation skills, an impressive snack strategy, and knees that may or may not cooperate, we’ll be tackling this ancient trail one section at a time.
There will be blisters, there will be lots of laughter, and there will almost certainly be debates about whose idea this was in the first place.
So if you want to see the progress of these girls pounding the chalk path and keep us moving, we’d be incredibly grateful if you could donate to this wonderful charity, one that is personal to me;
The Amber Phillpott Trust
Amber was only 18 months old when she died from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and The Trust was set up to honour her memory by helping others affected by the same disease.
The Amber Phillpott Trust is a UK-registered charity dedicated to supporting research into Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML), particularly in children. AML is a serious form of blood cancer, and the Trust works to relieve sickness and promote health by funding carefully selected initiatives that aim to:
- Develop better and more effective treatments for AML
- Support vital medical research
- Raise public awareness of AML and leukaemia through fundraising and outreach
- Ultimately help find a cure.
