Across the country, thousands of Black women walk out of cancer treatment centers into a world that is not built to catch them. The doctors say, “You’re done!” but no one talks about the depression. The fatigue. The fear. The medical bills. The job loss. The broken relationships. The isolation.

AfterFIRE Foundation exists to stand in that silence.

We’re a nonprofit built by survivors, for survivors, a lifeline for Black women after the final infusion. Our mission is simple: to ensure that every Black woman has the support, resources, and dignity she needs to rebuild her life once the fire of cancer treatment has passed.

Why This Matters

Black women face higher mortality, later diagnoses, and greater emotional and financial fallout from cancer. And yet, after treatment ends, support systems vanish, leaving survivors to pick up the pieces alone.

AfterFIRE Foundation fills that gap with:

• One-on-one mentorship and coaching

• Mental health and trauma-informed recovery support

• Help re-entering the workforce and rebuilding stability

• Emergency relief and wellness stipends

• Education, advocacy, and systemic change
