Father's Day may have passed, but the need to support those without fathers hasn't. It's never too late to lend a supporting hand to lift a young man or woman up and give them another day of hope! You can still support our efforts to help those youth who don't have a father. We're celebrating Father's all year long. Will you help us, "Be A Father to the Fatherless?"
Across this country, more than 2 million youth, are homeless and didn't have a father that they could spend Father's Day with. Even worse, some are now fathers themselves and can't take care of their children, let alone themselves because they're homeless.
I would like to ask you to join me in being a father to those who are fatherless. Whatever the reason, I would like to be a blessing to those boys, girls, young men, and women, who are not only without a father but are also homeless! Some find themselves also trying to be fathers and mothers to their minor children, but they don’t have a place to call home, no food, clothing, or the basic needs for themselves or their children. Something I'm very familiar with.
With the pandemic still in full effect, homelessness rose exponentially in the DMV over the past year. And among the highest rates were with Black youth. For this reason, I would like to sow into their shelter, food, education, job training, and sustainability. This campaign started to make a difference on Father’s Day, but as I saw the support for the mission grow, I wanted to keep it going so that we can truly make a difference this time around. I’m asking you to join me with a small $20.21 (tax-deductible) gift to feed, shelter, provide clothing, toiletries, etc., for those young men and women who are homeless and don’t have a father that would care for, and about them. Let’s adopt a youth! We symbolically adopt highways, streets, communities, pets, and animals. Today, let's do that for a homeless youth!
Now $20.21 alone certainly isn't the end-all to be all (you can do more), but collectively, we can help make a difference, one that I’m sure they’ll remember, as I did when someone blessed me.
So, join me and donate $20.21 so that Covenant House Greater Washington can be the fathers to these youth so they can continue to provide the services, shelter, clothing, child provisions, and other aid that they may be in need of. Every little bit will help. Imagine, if we can donate just $20.21 (please post, share with your network, and donate), I’m confident that we can reach our goal to give CHGW the ability to do everything that you as a father would do if they were your child. Your donation will help during these challenging times. Will you PLEASE join me?
