*In 2009 a Judge recommended relief based on Actual Innocence in his case but Ben remained in prison.
Ben was reunited with his family March 12, 2021!!!!
He is out in the free world on a PR bond awaiting the final fact finders' decision in his case from the Court of Criminal Appeals.
There is a real chance Ben will never be compensated by the state of Texas for the years they stole from him.
We can help give him back some dignity and love and show him that there are good people in the world who believe in justice and truth with our financial gifts.
Rebuilding his life after 34 years of wrongful conviction won’t be easy.
He will need to adjust to all the changes in the world in the past 3 decades -- like how to use a computer and cell phone, how to drive a car again, and how to navigate a digital society.
Transportation will be essential to travel to and from work as well as purchasing personal necessities like clothing, food, and personal hygiene products.
Medical assessment is another area of need that will require initial funds as well as contributing to his housing costs.
