Sadly, Mike lost his many year battle with cancer leaving his wife Tamara and their two beautiful daughters, Kayla and Jenna, much too early. Mike was an amazing father, husband and friend. He fought one dire prognosis after another in order to stay with his family and see his daughters grow up. Mike fought until the end, passing away while receiving a liver transplant. 

Kayla being a senior in high school and Jenna a Junior it is important that the girls be able to stay in their home until after their graduations. Both girls are active at school with a circle of friends that are helping them at this difficult time.  We are asking for any sized donations you can give to help Tamara take care of her and the girls during this difficult time. 

A little more on Mike, Tamara, Kayla and Jenna: Mike & Tamara met in college at Illinois State and enjoyed a close marriage for 22 years. Mike had a great sense of humor and developed strong long term friendships. When he first received his cancer diagnosis back in 2015 he became determined to fight through his illness. He diligently would do his CrossFit workouts even during chemo and he was an inspiration to all. Tamara, in addition to being a wonderful mom, is a hard worker with a job in customer service working right from their home alongside the two family cats. Kayla is already taking college level courses through a partnership with Elgin Community College and Jenna is an A student, competitive soccer player. Both also participate in their high school's theater tech club. The family loved travel, movie night, and most anything while together.
