On December 1 Klay and Amber welcomed their son Reed into the world. Unfortunately, during delivery, the umbilical cord presented itself first, then came an arm and a leg. These are life-threatening conditions. The doctor said there was no time to prepare for the C-section and had to manually try to turn Reed. He ended up being delivered feet first. Reed ended up with a broken collarbone and his arms and his legs are purple due to the bruising from delivery. They did a neurological test and it didn’t come back so good. They also tested the umbilical cord blood oxygen level, which came back low. Reed was med flighted to Anchorage. He is now currently placed on a cooling system that will keep his body at 92° for at least 72 hours. This will help with any swelling. He is making great improvements. He is now off the breathing machine. He now has a sucking reflex and is responding to touch. These are all great improvements as we continue to pray for no permanent damage we created this go fund me to help offset the costs for Klay and Amber so they can focus on bringing Reed home to his big brother Cameron. This will help with the lodging food, medical cost, and gas due to Anchorage being seven hours from their house. God is good and we truly believe that Reed will be just fine. We welcome all the prayers we can get if you can’t donate please pray and share. Thank you so much.
