Systemic Sclerosis

Hi my name is Nico Carrillo current Muay Thai World champion, a few days ago I entered a 42 Mile ultra marathon in honour of my best mates sister who was severely suffering and deteriorating from a very rare auto immune disease systemic sclerosis. A very rare but deadly disease where the the bodies own immune system attacks itself. In turn the life expectancy is 1-5 years from diagnosis.

 

my friends sister name was Leanne a young mum of 2, shortly after I posted that I was entering this race for her she passed away peacefully surrounded by family and her battle was over.

 

this disease has impacted me so close to home, I want to raise not only awareness but some money to donate to either a systemic sclerosis charity or to find someone else or some family also impacted by this disease or suffering from it who could benefit from financial help which could go towards treatment or care at home. If I can help some other family or even raise awareness of this horrible yet rare disease I will be happy.
