Support Felix Chavez's Artistic Legacy

Felix O. Chavez, a visionary artist, entrepreneur, and community leader, was recently declared legally blind due to aggressive glaucoma. Despite this, his passion for creativity and storytelling endures. We're seeking support to help our father publish his first bilingual book, a testament to his lifelong dedication to art, culture, and community.

Born in the Andean highlands of Talavera, Peru, Felix immigrated to New York City in the 1970s. There, he founded a company dedicated to restoring renowned public and religious spaces, including The Masonic Hall NYC , The New York Public Library - Bryant Park, The New York Life Insurance Building, and St. Jean Baptiste Church . His remarkable career has spanned numerous creative mediums, with a specialization in the restoration, preservation, and creation of new decorative finishes of interiors in landmark buildings.

Throughout his career, Felix has provided free art workshops directly in the field and in his company’s studio to thousands of disadvantaged young immigrants, helping them build successful careers in the arts. His work is a vibrant testament to the rich artistic heritage of classic international architectural styles, infused with the multicultural spirit of the Americas.

We are excited to announce Felix’s upcoming book, which showcases his vast experiences, designs, discipline, perseverance, and unwavering dedication to his craft. This unique presentation captures the essence of a life devoted to preserving the beauty of the past through sensitive dedicated labor.

Unfortunately, the pandemic led to the closure of Felix’s half-century old company . Despite these challenges, Felix remains committed to sharing his story and inspiring future generations of artists.

We humbly ask for your generous support to help publish his first bilingual book. Your contributions will help preserve Felix’s invaluable legacy and continue to inspire countless aspiring artists.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

The costs would cover the following:
  • Translator Cost (English-Spanish)
  • Designer Fee
  • Author's Assistant (due to being legally blind)
  • Illustration (Color photos)
