Magnar was saved from a Chinese wet meat market earlier this year by No Dogs Left Behind (NDLB) who reached out to Southland Collie Rescue to help fund this sweet senior dog's transport to and care in North America. With the help of collie lovers everywhere, we raised about $3600 for his transport in our previous GoFundMe campaign , However, due to COVID-19 associated delays and costs, his actual transportation cost was actually $5000. SCR had to fly him to Canada, and partnered with a Canadian breed rescue due to pandemic restrictions for a six-month quarantine before he can enter the US. Magnar may be safe, but he still needs expensive medical care.
Southland Collie Rescue is working with Okanagan Colle Rescue in Canada and OCR has arranged a loving, cozy foster home for Magnar, but SCR is still responsible for Magnar's medical expenses. Due to a failed surgery that unraveled before he came into rescue, Magnar is now a tri-paw (three-legged dog). He desperately needs to gain weight. His blood work has some abnormalities that will require more testing. When he is healthy enough, he also needs to be neutered and we know his dental work will be extremely expensive!
Then in six months, Southland Collie Rescue needs to get him home to Southern California.
Southland Collie Rescue has set a goal of $5000 to cover these medical and transportation costs. This beautiful old boy deserves the best chance for happy twilight years we can give him.

Help us give this senior collie the golden years he deserves.
Southland Collie Rescue is a registered 501C non-profit, based in Southern California. Our mission is rescuing every Southern California collie in need. We take in, care for and find loving homes for every purebred collie, and, when we can, collie mixes. These collies are pulled from shelters, found abandoned or given up directly by owners. Each rescued collie is spayed or neutered, brought up-to-date on vaccinations and checked for health and temperament before being placed in carefully checked homes.
