Rallying for Rachel

As you may have heard, one of our South Campus Pre-K Lead Teachers suffered a serious medical event a few weeks ago and has since passed away.

Rachel was been an integral part of UBCCC for many years and she provided vital support to many families with her unwavering dedication to our Pre-K students. Her gentle, enthusiastic, soft-spoken and unflappable way of being created a safe and loving atmosphere for her students and rest of the teachers and staff at UBCCC.

Many within our community have asked what else can be done beyond sending thoughts and prayers to Rachel’s family. We decided that the best thing we can do is support the person who was most important to her. Therefore, we are establishing a GoFundMe account to help support Rachel’s son Owen during this traumatic and uncertain time in his the life and beyond.

As Rachel’s former employer, UBCCC’s South Campus Director Adrianna Thomas will provide any funds raised directly to Owen’s aunt and primary caregiver Sarah Standard to support Owen in whatever way his family deems most appropriate during this time. Even if you have never had the absolute pleasure of interacting with Rachel, know that she is a treasured part of UBCCC, and anything you are able to contribute would be a testament to her place within our community.
