Road to recovery

Hi, my name is Britt!

Some of you may or may not know, I currently have a loved one undertaking a 6-12 month program at the ONE80TC rehabilitation centre due to severe drug addiction.

My loved one is now 12 weeks into his program and the changes are already noticeable. His physical appearance, planning for a better future, emotional state, smiling, laughing and social participation.

My loved one has been fighting addiction for quite some time which has had huge impacts on our family, he is now taking the leap to change his life around. We as a family, will continue to support him and be by his side every step of the way.

Two weeks ago my loved one came to me and said all of the boys in his rehab are super keen to do a day at paintball but unfortunately the rehab doesn’t have the funds and not every resident at the rehab has a support network that can pay for their spot.

I am writing this in hope (approved by the rehab) we as a community can get together the funds to send the boys to paintball! This is an activity that demonstrates some skills the boys may have never been supported with such as resilience, team work, trust and planning.

I want those without family support, to know they have a good community behind them and that change is always possible no matter who you are.
