Everyone deserves a Christmas dinner

EVERYONE DESERVES AT LEAST A CHRISTMAS DINNER!

Homeless Christmas Dinner Donations Campaign 2024 (haven’t got over last years yet!) - well I say it every year, but every year this feels more important than ever, with everyone been seriously squeezed by government and homelessness more prevalent than ever!

If you could contribute any food items or a little bit of funding to

purchase items in the run up to Christmas (no second hand clothes please) to this amazing cause it would be mega. It will cover full Christmas dinners as well as the following days festive food requirements

We’ll be supporting 6 charities/shelters to provide Christmas dinners/festive food for 400-500 homeless or vulnerable people in York, Selby (and surroundings areas) and central Manchester.

This little initiative and your local contributions covers the whole lot, so don’t ever think you’re just participating to some massive generic formal food collection thing. I personally take all the items direct to the shelters, so I get to see first hand who’s doing all the cooking and even those getting to eat it!

I’m trying to sort the Turkeys and veg separately (with a bit more difficulty than other years), but things like crisps, biscuits, drinks, Christmas puddings, gravy granules , custards, condiments etc are the things currently needed, but they’ll accept any food items whatsoever as it all gets used throughout the festive period

Anyway don’t worry there will be plenty of updates, this is just the first of many to kick it off for another year. The charities we collect for are Peasholme, Carecent, Changing Lives York, Restore York, Selby Churches and Coffee4Craig

Remember I don’t do the cooking so don’t need any cooking volunteers, but if you wanted to help on the day you could always contact them directly
