Join Us in Supporting Ethan’s Journey to Recovery!
We’re excited to announce two upcoming challenges to raise funds for Ethan’s Journey to Recovery, a charity dedicated to supporting children and families affected by cancer. Together, we’re working to make a difference by providing toys and supplies for the bravery box on Ethan’s ward, bringing comfort and encouragement to young patients during their hospital stays.
Our Challenges:
• Manchester Marathon: On April 27th, 2025, Keely & Abbie will be running 26.2 miles at Manchester Marathon.
• 100K Step Challenge: On November 23rd 2024, Keely & Abbie will be taking on the challenge of walking 100,000 steps in 24 hours. This involves following a route approximately 48 miles long. We will start at Abbie's house in Wolverhamton and make our way to Shrewsbury Town centre. From here we will then walk to Telford and finish at Keely's house.
Ethan’s Story:
Ethan was just four years old when he was diagnosed with stage 4 Burkitt’s leukemia, a rare form of cancer. After enduring months of chemotherapy, he bravely came through and is now in remission. In honor of his strength and the incredible care he received, we began raising money to give back to the ward that helped him heal.
How Your Support Helps:
All funds raised will go towards buying toys and other supplies for the bravery box on Ethan’s ward, providing children with comfort and a reason to smile during difficult days.
Keely’s reason -
As most people know, I am Ethan’s older sister. Ethan inspired me so much going through cancer at such a young age. With my family raising money for the Birmingham children’s hospital every year, I knew I wanted to help support them. So this brings me to now. Following in my dad’s crazy footsteps doing a marathon and 100k steps to raise money for an amazing cause.
Abbie’s reason -
Until recently, taking part in this sort of challenge would never have been possible for me. In 2023, I started a weightloss and fitness journey that changed my whole life. I went from being the girl who hated exercise to being the girl who wants to take part in these crazy challenges! I've been best friends with Keely since we were both 13 and I've had the privilege of watching her brother Ethan grow up. Ethan and his whole family dealt with his diagnosis in such an amazing way showing bravery and resilience throughout. I think it's incredible that after going through such a negative experience, they have managed to turn it into something positive by raising money for families who find themselves in the same situation.
