Hello everyone.
My name is Myra Cabrera. I am single mother, who has been through a lot of trials and tribulations. I moved here to Washington on August 10 2010 for a chance to better the life of my daughter and I. I have worked multiple jobs in different fields in the order to do so. In 2020, I had subdural hematoma and thrombosis (clotting in the brain) and had to go through buying maintenance medication. It put such a strain on my mental mental health because I now needed to work extra long hours to provide for my family and also try to stay as healthy as I can. In living for the sole purpose to work and paying for my medical bills, I have developed severe anxiety and depression. I also recently had epidural shot for my chronic back pain. To say it has been exhausting is an understatement. While I continue to struggle on a daily basis, I try to use my daughter as my main motivation to thrive in life.
In the midst of juggling life, my mental health, and my responsibilities as single mom, I am left with facing yet another devastating circumstance. On July 17, 2022, my apartment complex was caught on fire. My apartment was severely damaged and I was not able to save any of my belongings. Fortunately, my furbabies were safe, but they also need to be seen by a veterinary clinic because they have inhaled smoke from the fire. However, everything else that I owned are gone. All my belongings that I worked so hard for and all my plants that have kept me grounded and helped me get through my mental health were not salvageable. To simply put it, I lost everything. But though all that, I am thankful that my little family is save and that I am still able to live through this for them.
I am humbly asking for any help. I have always been a fighter, but my family encouraged me to start a GoFundMe because I will need all the help I can get to start anew. I will be needing funds to get a new apartment and buy necessities. It had been overwhelmingly exhausting, but I am trying to keep my head high for better days. I also know that times are challenging for everyone, but I am humbly asking for your help. Anything helps. Thank you everyone!
