at the Forefront Start Up
In 2017 I co-founded a social justice oriented global movement dedicated to uplifting the voices and contributions of black women all over the world. We are at the Forefront (atF).
Our vision is a globe that has effective diversity and inclusion strategies to ensure that Black women are in leadership, and at the Forefront of strategies designed to uplift us and our communities.
Today we have grown and recruited a team of experts located in Washington, DC, Nairobi, Kenya, New York, Niger, and have been committed to building community across geographical and cultural lines to promote solidarity to address intersectional bias due to race and gender.
We are fundraising to officially establish ourselves as an entity with global reach, and convene our members quarterly to develop tools, best practices and develop strategies to address structural racism and gender bias experienced by Black women across the Globe.
This year we will launch officially at the Women and Girls Africa Summit that will take place in Durban, South Africa in early June. I am honored to be a sub committee member of the conference planning committee, and are also fundraising to select members of community to attend the summit.
We are also hosting a series of "Critical Conversations" across the globe to tackle hot topics including the "crabs in the barrel mentality", feminism, gender based violence and other key social issues that Black women are affected by every day.
We are... at the Forefront.
