Helping Sammy

Hi, My Name is Trevor, Sammy Robar's Uncle.
Sammy isn’t home this year for Christmas. He tried to end his life, but thankfully, it was not his time. Now it's our time, to pull together as a family, and as a community, to provide care and support as Sammy recovers. We want to help Sammy have the best chance to move past this and embrace life's richness. That's why we're reaching out. We need your help so that we can be there for Sammy.
Samuel Isaac Robar was born on January 23, 2004. My nephew, Emma’s brother, Wayne, and Lisa’s son. As a young boy, he was into anything that would crash or make big noises and loved to make a big splash when our connected families would get together on birthdays or holidays. He loved commanding the room and getting some chuckles from his grandparents. Sammy loved doing just about anything, especially when he got a chance to hang out with his cousins or other kids. As a young boy, the family was dealt a heavy blow with the loss of his mom Lisa in 2010. This was a turning point for this small family and many memorable moments in Sam, Emma, and Wayne’s life would be not as sweet with the absence of Lisa. Lisa was a strong woman, a defender of good, and a seeker of giving. Never a moment where she would not help her family or someone in the community. In the absence of Sam’s mom Lisa, everyone’s intentions were to help Sammy grow into a man.
Now almost 19, Sammy’s going to school, got his license, and has a car to drive. He bought a 1993 Crown Victoria, an ole boat of a car most would say, but Sammy was proud to drive that ole boat around and managed to put a couple of dings in the bumper, to give it a little character. Sitting 6 foot 4 inches has curly golden-brown hair, and a smile or smirk that would charm the pants off any person that gazes his way. Sammy is working towards upgrading school and following the family tradition of working in the rock drilling business.
Sam is currently in the Halifax infirmary recovering from his injuries supported by his father Wayne, and sister Emma, and many of the family members.
This fundraising campaign is to help Sammy & his sister, Emma, with the financial burden of travel expenses to and from Halifax hospital. When Sammy comes home, he will require mental and physical rehabilitation. He will require continued mental health therapy, continued visits to Halifax, and prescription drugs. The remaining funds will be used to help continue his path to finishing up high school, getting a post-secondary diploma, and helping him get started living a productive life.
On behalf of Sammy’s family, we want to thank you for all your love, prayers, and support.
Sammy, We Love You.
