Hello, my name is Tim Chyrklund and I have been attending the Nativity of Christ Greek Orthodox Church my whole life. To earn the rank of Eagle Scout, you must complete a service project that improves the community in some way. With this being the case, I saw my Eagle Project as an opportunity for me to improve the church. When looking at the middle island in the parking lot, both Father and I noticed that it was actually quite long and stretched almost the entire length of the lot, with there being only one access point across. It was then that I decided I was going to transform the median to something that was both more accessible and more aesthetically pleasing. My plan will be to replace the current dirt and juniper bushes with a layer of gravel. In addition, I will lay down pathways made out of pavers in various spots along the median so to allow for people to cross easier. Donations made to fund my project will be put towards materials such as gravel, pavers, and the materials needed for paver installation. Concerning who will actually being doing the work, I will have fellow scouts and members of the church community to help out. So far in the planning process, I am anticipating to complete this project on the weekend of May 5th and 6th.
