St Paul's to St Paul's Sponsored Walk Fundraiser

On Saturday 14 October, we are walking from St Paul's Church in Grove Park, Chiswick to St Paul's Cathedral - a distance of 10 miles. We hope as many people as possible will join or sponsor us!

St Paul's church and garden are used by many community groups in Chiswick, and all funds raised by the walk will go towards ensuring that it continues to be a warm, hospitable and safe space, open to everyone. Repairs to the roof, essential boiler and electrical maintenance and replacing non-functioning lights with more efficient LEDs are some of the necessary renovations that will be required this winter. We also have plans to expand the garden, making it more accessible and able to be enjoyed by even more of the local community.

St Paul's is used for concerts, toddler groups, coffee mornings, yoga classes, rehearsals, poetry readings, meditation, quiz nights, meetings, study groups, recitals and more! Help us to secure its future as a thriving community hub where all are warmly welcomed!

• Walking: The walk is on Saturday 14 October, starting at St Paul's Church, Chiswick W4 3SB at 10:30 am. If you would like to walk with us, we suggest a donation of £20 which you can make using the DONATE NOW button above. Please add your name as a walker using the "Show Your Support" option when promoted after donating.
• Donating: If you are not walking, but feel able to sponsor those who are, thank you very much! Every sponsorship donation however large or small is hugely appreciated!
• Timings: We will assemble outside the church at 10:30 am. We’ll picnic in Kensington Gardens between 12-1 pm and arrive at St Paul's Cathedral around 3 pm. On arrival, we will congregate in the Middlesex Chapel for a time of reflection and there will also be the opportunity to have a welcome cup of tea in the Crypt Cafe. All walkers are invited to attend Choral Evensong which is from 5-6 pm, during which St Paul’s Church will receive a blessing. We suggest taking the train back home afterwards; the nearest stations are St Paul’s (Central line) and Mansion House (District and Circle).
• Route: 1) Church to Chiswick Pier (via Chiswick Station) along the river to Hammersmith 2) Up Hammersmith Road (A315) to High Street Kensington 3) Through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park to Hyde Park Corner 4) Through Green Park to Buckingham Palace 5) Up the Mall to Trafalgar Square 6) Across Whitehall and down to the river 7) Along the Thames as far as the Millennium Bridge 8) Up Peter’s Hill to St Paul’s Cathedral.
• Details: We will be walking whatever the weather so please bring appropriate clothing! Don’t forget a picnic for lunch in Kensington Gardens and there are also cafes and plenty of shops nearby. Children are most welcome, either on foot or in a buggy. If you would like to join us for part of the walk there are plenty of tube and bus stations along the way. Walkers will get free admission to St Paul’s Cathedral, and this includes the chance to look around the building and a seat at the 5 pm Choral Evensong service. There is a café in the crypt and also toilets.
Below are some pictures from a previous sponsored walk in 2013. The walk is intended as a celebration of friendship, community and faith and is sure to be a lot of fun! We hope you can join or sponsor us and we really value your support!
