I'm running a 2nd marathon (this time on a *relatively* flat surface) and I would love your support! I said I would be done after my one and only marathon on the Great Wall of China, but here we are again! I am running the 2023 NYC Marathon to raise money for Move for Hunger.
This innovative organization has created a way to combat national food insecurity by providing people with the opportunity to donate their food when they move. Over 33 million people move every year, and if we could just reallocate the food from those households then we could provide 27.5 million meals to people across the country every single year!
Combatting food insecurity is a cause that is near and dear to my heart after helping start the on-campus grocery store, Anabel's Grocery, at Cornell University. This student-run and non-profit grocery store offers fresh, nutritious and affordable food for all Cornell students. I worked at the intersection of quality food, health, justice, and sustainability to help create an equitable food system for students. Beyond providing groceries, Anabel's was a learning lab by offering educational programs and collaborating with diverse student organizations and local food producers.
Food insecurity exists all around us! I couldn't be more excited to run 26.2 miles to help alleviate hunger in our own communities. I would greatly appreciate your support!
